Prep and Pamper: Pre- and Post-Treatment Guidelines

Facial Pre-Care

  • Avoid using products containing Retinol or Vitamin A for seven days before treatment.
  • Avoid Benzoyl Peroxide for seven days (especially for chemical resurfacing & microneedling).
  • Avoid shaving the treatment area for 24 hours before treatment.
  • Avoid waxing the treatment area for at least three days before treatment.
  • Avoid exfoliating 3–5 days before treatment.
  • Avoid tanning beds and direct sunlight for one week. Please reschedule if you have a sunburn.
  • Avoid picking or irritating your skin in the days leading up to your appointment.

Facial Post-Care

Do’s

  • Change your pillowcase, face towel, and mask (if needed) to freshly laundered ones.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking water to help flush toxins and boost your glow.
  • For 24–48 hours, care for your skin with a mild cleanser and a hydrating moisturizer.
  • Apply SPF 30+ daily (mineral-based is ideal).
  • Keep makeup light or skip it for at least 24 hours.
  • Follow your custom product recommendations for lasting results.
  • Maintain regular treatments every four weeks for optimal outcomes.

Don’ts

  • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning beds for 48 hours.
  • Avoid heavy workouts, saunas, or steam rooms for 24 hours.
  • Don’t let your face sit over hot steam or oven heat.
  • Avoid exfoliating or using harsh products (such as retinol, AHAs, BHAs, scrubs, and acne spot treatments) for 3–5 days.
  • Avoid picking or touching your skin; let the healing process occur naturally.
  • Avoid waxing, threading, or laser treatments on the face for 5–7 days after treatment.
  • If you received DMK Enzyme Therapy, avoid massage therapy on the same day.

Chemical Peel Post-Care

What to Expect

  • Mild redness, tightness, or tingling for 1–3 days.
  • Light flaking/peeling may begin days 2–4 and last up to a week.
  • Not everyone peels visibly—the treatment is still working beneath the surface.

Do’s

  • Cleanse gently with a post-care cleanser and cool water, using hands only, then pat dry.
  • Use a fresh pillowcase, towels, and mask (if worn) to prevent the transfer of bacteria.
  • Apply moisturizer generously to keep skin hydrated and reduce flaking.
  • Wear broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily—sun protection is essential.
  • Stay hydrated with plenty of water.
  • Follow your esthetician’s product recommendations (calming serums, recovery balms).
  • Maintain results by repeating treatments every four weeks as advised.

Don’ts

  • Avoid picking, peeling, or scratching flaking skin (you may trim loose skin with sanitized scissors if needed). Premature peeling can cause hyperpigmentation.
  • Avoid using active ingredients (such as retinoids, acids, scrubs, benzoyl peroxide, and vitamin C) for 5–7 days or until your skin has fully healed.
  • Avoid waxing, threading, or laser treatments for 10–14 days after the peel.
  • Avoid tanning, saunas, hot tubs, or direct heat for 48–72 hours.
  • Avoid strenuous workouts or sweating for 24–72 hours, depending on your skin’s sensitivity.

Extra Tips

  • Schedule peels at least two weeks in advance of special events to allow for full recovery.
  • For best results, consider a series of 3–6 peels as recommended.
  • Daily sunscreen is non-negotiable for long-term skin health and to protect results.

Before You Book: Facial Treatment FAQs

Which facial is best for glowing skin?

Although all of our facials will leave your skin glowing, our CURES Glow + Sculpt Facial will achieve that result the most!

How often should I get a facial?

How often you should get a facial really depends on your skin type, goals, and the type of facial you’re getting. Our standard recommendation is every 4–6 weeks.

Will a facial remove blackheads?

Yes, facials can help remove blackheads through professional extractions that clear clogged pores after cleansing and steaming.

How much does a facial treatment cost?

Our facial treatments range from $159 to $222.

Which facial is good for pigmentation?

Anyone with unruly or sparse brows who wants a fuller, neater look is a great candidate. This treatment isn’t recommended for those with scratches, burns, scars near the eyes, eye infections, skin conditions, or inflammation in the eyebrow area.

How long will a brow tint last?

For pigmentation concerns—like dark spots, sun damage, or uneven skin tone—a chemical peel facial is particularly effective.
